- Ranch dressing
- Hot sauce

What Is The Best Chicken For Fried Chicken Tacos?
We use boneless skinless chicken breasts for this recipe and they work great. But, you can use dark meat too. Some boneless skinless chicken thighs would be great as well. Dark meat is always a little more tender and juicy. Just make sure you are frying and breading a boneless AND skinless cut of meat!
What Oil Should I Use For Frying?
As you can see above, we just said “Oil for frying”. We left this open because people often like to use different oils.
You just want to make sure your oil has a high “smoke point”. Some good suggestions would be vegetable oil, canola oil, sunflower oil or grapeseed oil.
You will want to use a high sided frying pan. This one works great! Put enough oil in so that the chicken is at least halfway in the oil. It doesn’t need to be completely submerged. Just watch the chicken as you are cooking and flip halfway through to make sure it’s getting cooked all the way through but not getting burnt on either side.
To make sure it’s done, it needs to be cooked to 165 degrees in the middle. This Instant Read Thermometer is A MUST HAVE for any kitchen.
Also, we’ve found that frying chicken is MUCH easier if you have a spider strainer. They are super cheap and another great tool to have handy for lots of different recipes!
Toppings For Fried Chicken Tacos
