It seems like every holiday has it’s own special treats. Thanksgiving has Pumpkin Pie, Christmas has candy canes and Halloween has…. well… a ton of candy! Valentine’s Day is no exception. I remember giving Valentine’s out to my classmates when I was younger and getting and receiving those candy hearts. Remember those?!?! You either loved them or you hated them!
Now that I’m older, I’ve discovered that there are all sorts of fun Valentine’s Day treats and recipes to make during the holiday. Even though we aren’t in school anymore (a lot of schools don’t let the kids trade Valentine’s anymore anyways… lame!), there are still lots of opportunities to make some tasty Valentine’s Day snacks! My husband LOVES to bake with our kids, and is always looking for a holiday that will give him an excuse to make a treat. Or, our offices may have a potluck or pitch-in, and you can share your favorite Valentine’s Day recipe!
So, if you’re looking for a fun new recipe for this year, check out these Valentine’s Day Brown Sugar Blondies.
Valentine’s Day Brown Sugar Blondies
I LOVE blondies! I think because it seems like it’s the hybrid of two of my favorite things: a cookie and a brownie! And I love how they never seem like they are too rich or too sugary. Warm one up and put some vanilla ice cream on top? Yes please! I really love chocolate chip blondies, but this special Valentine’s Day version is just as yummy. For this recipe, we use red and pink colored M&Ms. This gives them a special motif that even Cupid himself would fall in love with!

- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup pink and red chocolate-covered candies
Valentine M&M Blondie Instructions

This recipe will make about 9 squares, but you can certainly cut them into any dimension that suites your needs. It would also be fun to garish with some white and red sprinkles to add a little extra flair. And, yep, you can still heat it up and serve it with ice cream! This is the perfect recipe to bring to your next Valentine’s Day party or just to cook with your loved ones on this special day.
