S’mores Dip Ingredients
- MILK CHOCOLATE CHIPS – You can really use any chocolate you’d like. Semi-Sweet Chocolate would work fine too! We used Milk Chocolate to mimic the Hershey’s Bars.
- MILK – We added milk and butter to help keep the chocolate from hardening too quickly. We use 2% milk.
- BUTTER – Unsalted butter.
- LARGE MARSHMALLOWS – If all you have is mini marshmallows, you can use that. Some people like to cut their Jumbo Marshmallows in half and place the cut side down on the chocolate. This will give you less Marshmallow, if that is what sounds good to you.
- GRAHAM CRACKERS – For serving and dipping.
How To Make S’mores Dip
- Add chocolate chips, milk and butter to a large ovenproof skillet and heat over medium low heat.
- Stirring constantly until completely melted and combined well.
- Remove from heat and press marshmallows into the chocolate.
- Place into over and boil for 3 minutes. Marshmallows will begin to double in size. Continue to broil for 1-2 minutes or until tops are marshmallows begin to brown. Remove from oven and serve immediately with graham crackers.
Leftovers and Reheating
This dessert dip is best consumed fresh out of the oven. But if you have leftovers that you just can’t part with, we understand. To store leftovers, let the dip fully cool, cover and then store in your refrigerator. They should be good in your fridge for about 3 days. To reheat, cover with aluminum foil and bake in a preheated oven at 350 degrees for 10 minutes or until the dip is warm
What Can You Dip in a S’mores Dip?
We love to dip graham crackers in S’mores Dip for that traditional campfire experience. But there are tons of other things you can dip as well. Pretzels, chips, Biscoff, Ritz crackers, cookies even fresh fruit (strawberries or bananas). You may have to spoon the dip onto the banana but it is SOOOOO good!
Notes, Tips and FAQs
- WHAT IF I DON’T HAVE ANY OVEN PROOF CAST IRON SKILLETS? – No worries. You can bake this dessert in any bake pan.
- USE ANY KIND OF CHOCOLATE – We used Milk Chocolate for our dip. But you can use semi-sweet or dark chocolate. Melting Chocolate chips, baking chips or even candy bars will work.
- PEANUT BUTTER – Stir some peanut butter into the chocolate for some extra flavor. Or even just stir in some peanuts for some texture.
- WATCH THE MARSHMALLOWS – Watch your marshmallows with an eagle eye to make sure they don’t burn. They go from that perfect golden brown to burnt in just seconds. So don’t leave them unattended.
- DON’T PREHEAT YOUR OVEN – We put the dip in a cold oven in then broil on high. That lets the marshmallows brown a little slower to help prevent burning.
