Ingredients
1lbextra lean ground beef
1medium head of cabbage. Chopped and core removed.
1medium onionchopped
1teaspoonminced garlic
1cupdiced carrots
1/2cupwhite rice
2cansItalian style diced tomatoes (tomatoes with basil, garlic and oregano)
4cupsbeef broth
1tablespoonworcestershire sauce
1tablespoonbrown sugar
2teaspoonspaprika
1teaspoondried oregano
1teaspoonsalt
1/2teaspoonground black pepper
chopped fresh parsleyoptional for serving
Instructions
In a large stock pot, add beef, onion and garlic and cook over medium heat, stirring frequently until beef is no longer pink and onions are tender.
Add carrots, and tomatoes. Mix well.
Add rice, tomatoes and broth.
Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar and spices. Mix well and heat over medium high heat until boiling.
Add Cabbage.
Once boiling, cover and reduce heat to simmer.
Continue to cook for 20-30 minutes or until rice and vegetables are tender.
