This Cabbage Casserole is an old fashioned comfort recipe that's been around for decades. Hearty, creamy and delicious, it's perfect to serve at BBQs, Church Functions, Potlucks or Pitch ins.

Ingredients

For The Topping

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cabbage head roughly chopped
  • 1 yellow onion finely chopped
  • 1 10- ounce can cream of chicken soup
  • 1/3 cup sour cream

For The Casserole

  • 1/4 cup butter melted
  • 2 cups Ritz crackers crushed
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and grease a 2-quart baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
  • Heat the butter in a large skillet over medium heat.

  • Add the cabbage and onion and cook until the cabbage is tender.

  • Transfer the cooked cabbage to the baking dish and season with salt and pepper.

  • Stir together the cream of chicken soup and sour cream until well combined.

  • Spread the mixture over the top of the cabbage.
