Ingredients

  • 1 pound black eyed peas
  • 8 ounces diced ham
  • 1 cup diced onions
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups vegetable broth
  • 3 cups water

Instructions

  • Place the black eyed peas on a bowl and allow them to soak overnight.
  • When ready to cook, drain the beans and add them to the bowl of the slow cooker. Add the ham, onions, garlic, pepper, salt, vegetable broth and water. Stir to combine.
  • Place the lid on the slow cooker and cook on low for 8 hours or high for 6 hours, stirring occasionally.
