Cherry Crumble Pie

Pie lovers rejoice! This Cherry Crumble Pie has arrived and it's given the classic American dessert a delicious kick in the pants. Topped with a crumbly streusel topping, this Cherry Pie combines sweet, tart and buttery flavors. This pie recipe is equally at home at summer cookout or on a holiday dessert table!

Ingredients

For the pie:

  • 1 deep dish frozen pie shell thawed
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 4 cups frozen cherries
  • 1 tbsp butter

For the streusel/crumble topping:

  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup brown sugar packed
  • ¼ cup butter

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.
  • In a large bowl, combine cornstarch, sugar and frozen cherries.
  • Carefully pour the cherry mixture into the pie shell and dot with 1 tablespoon of butter.
    Cherry Crumble Pie uses frozen cherries mixed with butter.
  • In a small bowl, mix together streusel/crumble ingredients with a fork. Continue to mix until crumbly.
  • Sprinkle the streusel topping evenly over the pie.

  • Bake for 35-40 minutes. After 20 minutes of baking, cover the crust edges with aluminum foil. This will prevent it from overbaking/excessive browning.
