Teriyaki Shrimp Skewers

These Teriyaki Shrimp Skewers are an easy grilling recipe for just about any occasion. Sweet and smoky homemade teriyaki sauce is the perfect pairing to these perfectly grilled shrimp.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound jumbo shrimp peeled and deveined
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • ½ teaspoon ground ginger

Instructions

  • In a quart size bag, add the soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, apple cider vinegar, olive oil, garlic, and ginger.
  • Add the shrimp to the bag. Close the zipper and shake the bag to coat the shrimp. Place in the refrigerator and marinate for at least one hour.
  • While the shrimp is marinating, place skewers in water to soak if using wooden skewers.
  • When the shrimp are ready, place five shrimp on each skewer.
    Teriyaki Shrimp Skewers Instructions includes marinating shrimp in teriyaki sauce for 2 hours.
  • Place the shrimp on the grill over direct heat for five to six minutes, then flip the shrimp and cook for another five to six minutes on the other side. The shrimp are done when they turn pink

Notes

Make sure to put your shrimp on "lengthwise" (check out the pictures). This ensures even cooking and that the shrimp will not fall off.
We garnished ours with some fresh parsley. You can also chop up some cilantro or use some sesame seeds to sprinkle on top.
