This Easy Empress Chicken is a delicious, homemade version of the classic Chinese Takeout Dish. Crispy Fried Chicken is tossed in a sweet, savory and spicy sauce and served over white rice.

Mix together cornstarch, chicken broth and sugar and mix well.

Add soy sauce, vinegar, minced garlic and ground ginger. Set aside while you prepare the rest of the dish.

Heat oil until hot for frying. Mix together chicken, egg and soy sauce evenly coating.

Dredge chicken into cornstarch.

Fry chicken until golden brown, about 6-7 minutes. Drain on paper towels and keep warm.

Place a small amount of hot oil in a work, or skillet. Heat until very hot. Add onions and peppers and heat for 30 seconds.

Whisk sauce well and add to wok or skillet. Heat until bubbly and begins to thicken.

Reduce heat and stir in chicken to evenly coat. Serve topped with hot white rice.
