HOMEMADE SUGAR COOKIE
1. In a large bowl, cream together sugar and butter. Add egg and vanilla. 2. Add flour, baking powder and salt and mix. 3. Divide cookie dough into 3 parts. 4. Color one part blue and another part red. 5. Cover each cookie dough color in its own plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least one hour. 6. Remove cookie dough from fridge. 7. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper. 8. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. 9. Break off all cookie dough colors into small spheres, about 2 inches in size. 10. Press the different color cookie dough spheres together, alternating colors. 11. Sprinkle a rolling pin with flour. As well, add some flour on a clean working surface. 12. Roll out cookie dough until it’s about ½ an inch thick. 13. Cut out 12-14 star-shaped cookies and place about an inch apart on lined cookie sheet. 14. To re-roll dough, be sure to piece the cut-up dough together (rather than re-shaping it into a ball and rolling) because this will keep all the colors in-tact. 15. Bake for 6-7 minutes. 16. Allow to cool on a wire rack - serve and enjoy!
